Known as "Berlin’s Queen of Fermentation," Alexis Goertz is the effervescent co-founder of Edible Alchemy CoLaboratory, a global digital brand, product line, and online academy teaching the lost art of fermentation. Her expertise stems from extensive global travels, studying traditional techniques and learning from renowned chefs, while her commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing sets her apart. Her groundbreaking work has earned widespread recognition, making her a luminary in the culinary world.
She pours all her time and love into experimenting with and expanding her business as a modern-day alchemist, certified herbalist, beekeeper, and licensed edible and medicinal wild mushroom specialist. A sought-after speaker and consultant, she is constantly working to evolve Edible Alchemy's offerings in classrooms, festivals, kitchens, farmers’ markets, urban gardens, parks, rooftops, and creative spaces.
Originally from Winnipeg, Canada, she has resided in Berlin since 2014. She is the author of 52 WILDE FERMENTE, a German language cookbook from Kosmos published in 2025. Her US debut is forthcoming from Ten Speed Press, an imprint of Penguin Random House.
