Don't Cook For Cowboys
What do you get when a psychotherapist, who uses food as her love language, befriends an industrial designer with an encyclopedic knowledge of vintage housewares -- both newly heartbroken and in their thirties?
You get Don't Cook For Cowboys, Wisconsin's hottest mobile dinner party powered by thrifted tablescapes and family-style plates. Born from the creative minds of Kaitlin Sherman and Nikki Hageman, the project has brought together thousands of strangers for unforgettable meals across even more memorable tables. Since 2022, Don't Cook For Cowboys' delightfully idiosyncratic spreads have reimagined the Midwestern supper club for a post-pandemic generation still grappling with loneliness and isolation.
Currently at work on their first book, DCFC shares the messy process, the rare plates and the stories of the stamps underneath them; the conversation-starting centerpieces and the people they've met along the way. They may even inspire you to buy a disco ball or two.
