Bella Castillo is a cook, writer, interdisciplinary artist, and sensible brunette living in Austin, Texas. Formerly a professional food photographer, she works in the culinary space doing social media marketing, recipe development, and food styling at Made In Cookware. Outside of her nine-to-five, she can often be found in the kitchen testing new recipes for the thousands of subscribers to her newsletter, Early Girl, at her ceramics studio throwing delicate vases out of buttery porcelain, or recording a new episode of her podcast - Check Please! – where she hosts a rotating cast of culinary professionals for an hour or two of irreverent chatter.

When she’s feeling even more ambitious than usual, she’ll pop up at wine bars and cafes all over Austin, slinging slices of amaretto tiramisu or strawberry fennel slab pie. She considers herself as practical, enduring, and dainty as a Battenburg tablecloth.

Bella is currently at work on her debut cookbook.
