Micaela Macagnone
Micaela Macagnone, born and raised in New York City, is writing a memoir about her family, headed by her larger-than-life Italian American father. Set primarily in downtown Manhattan, the story follows Micaela as she orbits her father’s ever-changing interests and many shifting ventures - Italian American restaurants, a bakery, a plant and gems shop, Pilates studios, a pizzeria, and more - revealing a life shaped by a parent who was both magnificent and manic. Micaela had an excerpt of her manuscript published in the New York Times. She graduated with an MFA in Creative Writing from the City College of New York, where she is now a professor of English. Aside from writing, Micaela loves to relax by a pool with her friends and peruse the cheese sections of fancy grocery stores.
